The production of professional sound recordings on location places unique demands on the production team and the technical equipment. Many productions - particularly those with foreign remote locations - must be accomplished by a small crew with limited baggage and freight capacity. Some productions - particularly those involving live music or performers, will require complicated sound systems including wireless microphones, multi channel mixers and separate recording devices.
In many television production environments sound is the "poor cousin" of the video recording. This is not the case at Channel 6 Television! We recognise the importance of professional sound for all our productions.
Our location sound equipment stock is wide and varied - capable of meeting the needs of any production - from the simple single camera and microphone setup, to the complex multi-channel live production. Whilst the synchronised audio for most productions is recorded digitally alongside the video on Digital Betacam, we are also equipped for separate post-sync audio  recording and have a wide variety of recording devices for non-sync or wild track recording.
