For 25 years Channel 6
Television has delivered television productions to Danish and
international broadcasters, industrial and corporate clients, government
departments and public authorities, NGO's and private organisations. In
the same period the company has also produced many productions on its own
initiative - typically documentaries, educational films and public
information programming financed by public funds and private foundations.
The company was established in England in 1981 by Adrian Redmond and
relocated to Denmark in 1983. |

|
| With
the establishment in the eighties of the company's studios and production
facilities in the village of Mesing near Skanderborg, Channel 6 quickly
became one of the independent production companies that would lead the
development of an independent production sector in Denmark - a development
which resulted in the end of the nation's broadcasting monopoly and the
creation of Denmark's second television channel - TV2/Denmark. For
several years Channel 6 Television was a regular programme contractor for
the new channel with the children's series "FAKTISK". |
|
In
those years before the advent of an homogenous production environment with
established media training programmes for professionals, Channel 6
Television was active in the fostering and development of new production
talent.
As the independent production sector grew, many creative and
technical professionals found their way into the industry through Channel
6 Television. Today, 20 years on, many of these people are prominent
professionals in the Danish media industry. |

| By
maintaining its own studios and production facilities since the early days,
the company has witnessed the gradual progression from 16mm film, through
analogue videotape, to the digital technology of today, and the company
can still pride itself as being amongst the best equipped and best
established production environments in Denmark. |
|
| Channel
6 Television has moved with the times - and as the independent sector in
Denmark has come of age and fostered a couple of generations of media
professionals, the company has followed the general trend, drawing today
on a regular pool of freelancers to supplement the company's staff team
according to the specific requirements of each production. |
|
| Since
the nineties, the company's production activities have been increasingly
focussed on documentaries, educational and public-information films and
production for industrial and corporate clients. |
|
| Channel
6 Television is a full-service production house. The company offers
complete productions - from the development of programme concepts and
communications strategy, through scriptwriting and planning and the actual
production and post production process. |
|
| The
company has facilities for music and audio production, graphics and
web-design, language versioning and duplication to VHS, CD and DVD. Many
productions are developed so that the investment in research, preparation
and recording may result in products for distribution through several
media such as tape, disc and the internet. |
|
| Whilst
the Channel 6 Television is experienced in all genres and production styles,
our strength lies in informative productions - where a complex message -
often with a high degree of technical content, must be communicated
clearly to the audience. It is in this area of programming that the
company and our staff and freelancers are most experienced. |
|
| The
television medium is under constant change - the content and the message
requires new technology, new production styles and new distribution
methods - and the medium itself plays a role in today's society, which few
could have envisaged but a decade ago. |
|
| Despite
such change and progress, the challenge for Channel 6 Television remains
the same - to find and tell "the good story". As the saying goes
- "Content is the king". |
