Technical
support
|
|
With
over a thousand items of electronic equipment in our production
facilities, we have a need for constant maintenance and calibration.
This work is handled primarily in-house - supplemented as required by
external service contractors for specialist work and calibration of
reference equipment.
The company's technical support workshop is equipped to handle most
service and repair jobs. |

Multiburst test signal |
The
support workshop competence covers audio, video and other low voltage RF
and base band equipment, communications equipment and IT systems.
Key equipment that is used for reference purposes in production and
quality control such as signal generators, waveform monitors,
vectorscopes, reference monitors and PPM meters are regularly calibrated
to ensure that the company's equipment and productions comply with the
relevant technical standards. |
|
Even
the digital production chain must be able to receive and deliver analogue
signals
and digital technology often reveals faults or artefacts that remain
invisible for most viewers in the analogue domain.
It is therefore important that all analogue equipment used in the digital
production chain is optimally calibrated and maintained to ensure the best
possible result.
At Channel 6 Television we pride ourselves in maintaining our equipment
and systems. |

Cleaning and adjusting
a VTR |
With
over 200 video recorders of different formats on our inventory, service
and calibration is a daily task, which gives routine and experience.
Regular cleaning of VTR's - in particular those used for acquisition, edit
feeds and mastering - is vital to minimise wear and maintain the optimal
recording and playback quality - and to avoid unnecessary downtime in
production. |
|
Our
technical support archives hold several hundred service manuals and
diagrams for professional and broadcast equipment.
It has been company policy for many years to secure documentation when
acquiring production equipment.
This has resulted in an archive of hard-copy and digital documentation
covering over 90% of the company's audio, video, IT and control equipment. |

For
many years, Channel
6 Television has handled the design and installation of all the company's
systems and studio facility infrastructure.
This work is undertaken in compliance with the same high technical
standards used in television stations and broadcast production
environments in Denmark and throughout Europe.
Our technical support workshop also handles similar projects for others.

|
The
configuration and maintenance of IT equipment and the digital production
infrastructure and the specialist applications is a routine task in the
modern digital production environment.
The challenge is more than one of procuring and using the latest
technology. Good IT management is also about optimising - on a regular
basis - the system and its components to maintain performance and extend
the profitable service life of the system. |

Besides
the development, installation, configuration and maintenance of the
company's own facilities and equipment, Channel 6 Television offers
technical support services to other companies, organisations and
institutions in the repair of equipment and the development and deployment
of new installations, and the training of users.
As a company with daily, hands-on experience of a wide range of production
equipment, we are able to assist our clients in making the most of their
resources and hardware investment.
